To become a Homecare Hero for Firstpoint Homecare you must have the passion and commitment to join a dedicated team of professionals to provide care and support to members of the community in their own homes.

You do not need to have any experience in care to join our team, just a willingness to learn and to enjoy making a difference to peoples lives.

Firstpoint Homecare has a dedicated central recruitment team to take you through the registration process as quickly and efficiently as possible. You will have your own Resourcer to help you along the way and assist you with any queries you may have.

Firstpoint Homecare provides a comprehensive 3 day training course for all of our new carers. It covers topics such as Manual Handling, Emergency Situations, Policies and Procedures and Medication Awareness all the information that you will require before you go out on a shift. Within your first few weeks of employment you will be shadowed by an experienced carer (if you have no previous experience) to show you the ropes and help you with anything you are not sure of. You will also receive 12 weekly supervisions so any issues you may have can be addressed with one of our senior carers or with the supportive office team.

A DBS will be required to be completed by yourself before commencing work. The initial cost of the DBS is to be met by the candidate of £51.80 (this is the correct DBS charge, we do not add on an administration fee like most other agencies).

The company will also require employment or character references which we will apply for on your behalf. A pre employment health questionnaire / declaration will also be needed. All paperwork will be provided by the office.
